The 40th Annual Seminole Sound Spectacular is a Marching Band Competition, hosted by the Seminole Warhawk Band Boosters, at our own Warhawk Stadium. As one of the oldest, most storied events in the Marching Band arena, It is the single largest General Fund Fundraiser that exists within our Band Program, and is attended by bands, large and small, from across the state and beyond.
Some of the most respected judges in the industry are brought in to adjudicate individual captions. For the 2016 event, the judges are:
Jeff Mitchell – General Effect Music
Mike Anderson – General Effect Coordination
Edrick Rhodes – Music Ensemble
Tom Slaughter – Visual Ensemble
Chip Wood – Field Music
Ralph Stewart – Field Visual
John Campese – Percussion
Becca Sullens – Auxiliary
Each of five (5) classes is awarded a First, Second, and Third place trophy in the following categories - in addition to a Grand Champion trophy.
- Outstanding Brass
- Outstanding Woodwind
- Outstanding Percussion
- Outstanding Auxiliary
- Outstanding General Effect
- Outstanding Drum Major
The Classes are defined as:
- Exhibition (Ratings Only)
- Class A (Up to 24 Winds)
- Class AA (25-35 Winds)
- Class AAA (36-56 Winds)
- Class AAAA (57-80 Winds)
- Class AAAAA (81 Winds or Above)
